Cable-Safe Frequently Asked Questions Website/Ordering Questions
Installation Questions
Miscellaneous Questions Why is it safe to order from Cable-Safe.com? SSL is an industry standard technology supported by Internet Explorer, Netscape, Safari, Firefox, and other popular Web browsers. Cable-Safe uses it to completely encrypt your credit card data so that it cannot be read by anyone else. You can verify DeviceWork's Cable-Safe.com server is secured by an SSL certificate by clicking on the Comodo logo on the right. If you have additional questions about our security measures, please contact our customer service department at custservice@Cable-Safe.com. Which Cable-Safe kit is right for me? Can I order Cable-Safe parts in bulk? My Cable-Safe is damaged. What do I do? I am not satisfied with my Cable Manager. Can I return it? If not completely satisfied with your purchase, any item purchased from the Cable-Safe website may be returned within 30 days for a full refund of the purchase price of the product (excludes tax and shipping). See Cable-Safe's Complete Satisfaction Guaranteed. Do I need a grommet hole to use the Cable Manager? This method works with the Cable Manager. 2) You can mount the Cable Track directly to vertical surface on the inside or outside of your desk also using the screws supplied in the kit. The instruction sheet also describes how to do this. Please refer to Page 3, illustration B. This method works with either the Cable Manager or Wall kit. I have a glass computer desk. Can the Cable Manager be attached to this type of desk? Generally the clamp requires a surface 5/16" or thicker. However, there is a removable cutout in the neoprene pad attached to the DeskClamp. When removed and attached to the Clamp Head, the cutout pad's primary purpose is to provide additional protection for the top of the clamped surface. A side effect of installing this extra pad, though, is that you also reduce the minimum thickness to 3/16". If your top is thinner than 3/16", we would supply you with additional pads that would allow you to clamp to any thinner surface. If you need these extra pads, after you place your order just send us a separate email mentioning the pads and referencing the order number. We will add the extra pads to your kit at no charge. How much weight can a Cable-Safe handle? My bungee cords slip. How can I secure them? How do I get the power strip off the floor? Will Cable-Safe organize my audio and video cables? My desk is too thick for the Cable-Safe clamp. What do I do? How do I release my DeskClamp from my desktop? How do I release the clamp head from the clamp assembly? Will looping my cables degrade the performance of my computer? Cable-Safe cords, however, are not wound into this type of coil. The cords are configured in an oblong loop that does not generate interference or act as an antenna for RF signals except at the most minute levels. These are considerably below levels that could cause either stability or data integrity problems in a typical computer environment and likely no more than what the cables would experience randomly grouped on the floor. In fact, because the cables are separate from each other on the Cable-Safe, it could be argued that the potential for interference due to crosstalk (caused by different cables running in parallel alongside each other) is actually less. Partially due to increasingly more stringent FCC regulations and the efforts of standards organizations such as the IEEE, signal interference is much less of an issue than it was as little as 5 years ago as hardware and cabling have been developed with decreased sensitivity to these problems. However, if your installation is in a lab or other specialized environment that demands high signal integrity, I would certainly refer to the hardware manufacturers documentation to see if they have any specific recommendations for cabling and cable management.
